Clouds Across the Sun
Limited edition print of 50!
Here is a hand pressed lino print showing a warm ombre orange sun setting over the sea, with swirling rolling clouds.This print was designed during lockdown when only local travel was allowed, which meant that the sea was inaccessible. I'm sure many of us can relate to that! Inspired by the healing nature of water and the overriding sense of peace that the sea can bring, I sketched out this idea taking hours to draw out the intricate, weaving lines of the waves, which in itself was a therapeutic feeling. After transferring the drawing onto my lino block I spent many evenings after work carving away at the detailed patterns of the water and the swirling movement in the clouds. Eventually this ode to the sea was created, composing of 5 different lino blocks.
Printed on acid free, Fabriano Unica A3 paper.
This is an original hand pressed lino print, the nature of this type of printmaking means that each item is unique so there may be slight variations to the image shown. I think this adds to the beauty and I hope you do too.
